About the name Pyro Palooza:
The name Pyro Palooza is getting to be quite popular lately. Skyfest is now calling itself Pyro Palooza. There is also an unrelated pyropalooza.org. We are, however, the original Pyro Palooza. I created this site in 2004, and we were calling ourselves Pyro Palooza even before that.
About our event:
As our event is rapidly approaching crowd capacity for the venue it is being held in, I feel the time has come to lay out some facts concerning the past, present, and future of our event.
- ***Pyro
Palooza is a private event, held on private property, and is not open
to the public!*** We therefore discourage all public postings
concerning the location and time of the event, or references to this
site, without the express consent of one of the Pyro Dudes. Please do
not put fliers up at work, make posting on the internet about when and
where the event is being held, or invite people you hardly know to show
up at the event. We had an incident where somebody called in to a local
radio station describing the event. This site was subsequently hammered
by the public and caused me to have to take down the map showing the
directions to the event to keep complete strangers from showing up.
This is the kind of thing we are trying to avoid.
- If you don't know who's house you're at or don't know one
of the Pyro Dudes personally, then you probably should not be inviting
other people. Anyone you do invite, you should have personal knowledge
of and be able to vouch for. Obviously their behavior may reflect on
you.
- We pride ourselves in running a family-friendly event and
have been lucky, so far, that we have not had any problems that have
involve law enforcement. But all's it takes is one incident and that
may ultimately put an end to the event. So let's all try to have fun
and be on our best behavior so we can keep this thing going.
What is Pyro Palooza?
Pyro Palooza began as one coffee can full of bottle rockets back in 1997 and has grown to the largest private display of pyrotechnics that you're ever likely to see! At a certain point, the overlapping concussions and flashing pyrotechnics become completely overwhelming, and you simply have no idea where to look next! As the Borg might say: Resistance is futile ... just sit back and enjoy!

Who are the Pyro Dudes?
It varies, but the regular organizers are Randy "Hey, is this thing lit?!" White and Jim "If this doesn't blow up, it'll be spectacular!" Bianco. Of course, none of this would be remotely possible without our dedicated army of volunteers and contributors. They sure make us look good!
